Odontology practice usually includes oral radiography and orthopantomography. Sometimes orthodontics uses cefalometry.
Dental X-ray pictures are needed for evaluation of the tissues surrounding the teeth, and determination of the condition of root canals before prosthesis.
During the radiological examination, the patient is protected from direct and diffused X-rays at the maximum – the least radiating amount is used for sufficient diagnostics, and the patient is covered with a special leaden apron.
